Things That Make You Go…Lord, Have Mercy!

Silence on the Champs Elysees

All this Photo 101 stuff has inspired me to go digging through my archives and I found this horrible picture that I took in Paris, on the ChampsÉlysées, no less. This sort of scene seems to be commonplace in Europe and its environs in my experience, as I subsequently saw the same heartbreaking scene or variations thereof play out in London more times than I care to remember. It distresses me to think that some people even think this, any of this, is normal. Thank God for the Blessed Hope and that these things shall some day pass away. If you ever feel despair creep upon you, get down on your knees and PRAY.

Psalm 37:25

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
