Peculiar (I’ve Tasted God)

IMG_20180202_135242-01.jpg

Peculiar

Am I peculiar?

Strange to you?

A stone of stumbling?

Do I offend?

When I speak (the) truth,

Deny the lie,

Sting the disobedient heart?

Believe (and) don’t be confused

I’m so precious

I’ve tasted God and He’s gracious

I am a lively stone

Peculiar people

You are a chosen generation

A holy nation

Sing forth His praises

He has called you

Out of the darkness

Into His marvellous light

You are His people

His chosen ones

Peculiar people

Strange and strong

Come taste and see

The Lord is good

Chosen generation

Royal priesthood

Strangers and pilgrims

Flee from lust

Let them see your good works

Shine forth your honest heart

So sweet and precious

I’ve tasted God and He’s gracious

(Bridge)

You are a chosen generation

Royal priesthood

A holy nation

A peculiar people

Shout forth His praises

Step out of darkness

Come into the light

Come and taste this marvellous light

Lyrics written 2/2/2018, 1 Peter 2, emphasis on verse 9

WPC, Beloved

Update 6/2/2018: I’ve just finished a piano ballad arrangement for this song.
